As much as I love the scent of bees wax I really needed a break, so I started working on some watercolour paintings. I love the freedom of watercolour painting and the graphic quality they produce.

Well March came with snow, ice and lots of wind. I have been working on some new, larger encaustic pieces this week. Kyle and I have also been working on a grant proposal for Spark Box … always so much more work then you expect with grants. I have been loving the website of artist/designer Elisabeth Dunker called Fine Little Day.  I have been going there daily.

I have an exhibition in the State of Flux gallery at the Modern Fuel in Kingston, Ontario from 17 March to 14 April 2012. The opening reception will be on Saturday 17 March at 7 pm. Sadly, I won’t be at the opening as I will be attending the SGC Conference in New Orleans to promote Spark Box Studio but Kyle is going to be at the opening in my place. It should be a good night with some more new work– larger versions of the new wax pieces and a few etchings. The main gallery space will also be hosting its opening with work from Jason Paradis.
